Bundaleer Festival 2011

Background

The Bundaleer Festival is held biennially in the heart of the Bundaleer Forest in South Australia’s northern Clare Valley region and in 2011 was facing the threat of Government funding being withdrawn and the event closing, if it once again ran at a loss as it had since its inception in 1999.

In June 2010, McClusky & Co was engaged to manage the public relations, promotions and advertising requirements of the Festival to reignite both public and media interest and drive an increase in ticket sales. Read more ...

Dignity for Chronic Pain Sufferers (DFPS)

Background

DFPS was formed to raise awareness of the difficulties that chronic pain patients face, particularly those reliant on ‘opiate derived treatments’.

A change in South Australian legislation now officially categorises these patients as ‘drug addicts’, significantly reducing their access to medication, with some claiming it’s brought them to the brink of suicide. In response, DFPS has started a major legal challenge to have the SA legislation overturned.

Frustrated by a lack of media interest, DFPS approached McClusky & Co to draw public attention to the patients’ plight, highlight the arguable inhumanity of the new system and rally support for their legal challenge. Read more ...

Roaring 40’s

Background

Roaring 40’s is a renewable energy company and developer of a major wind farm project in the picturesque Clare Valley in South Australia’s mid north - a project dogged by controversy since the planning stages in 2004.

As the project was nearing completion in April 2010, McClusky & Co was engaged to manage the growing protest anger and generate positive media coverage both before and after the official opening. Read more ...
